The following table list various resources that can help you bring your Block Island Renewable Energy Grant project to a successful completion. The list contains those who have submitted information as architects, installers, design professionals, contractors and lending institutions. This list will be updated from time to time. Call us for the latest list or download the information from www.entech-engineering.com. We are located in the Fish Head Building.

How we define the various categories listed below:

 

Architects: Licensed designers of buildings and other structures. They can help you incorporate renewable energy technologies into a new or existing building.

Contractors: Primarily in the building trades, such as carpenters. They may have experience installing renewable energy projects. They most likely will work with Licensed Trades, Developers, and/or Design Professionals.

Developers: Primarily a designer of renewable energy systems. They have designed at least three renewable energy projects. They may install their own designs or work with Contractors and/or Licensed Trades.

Licensed Trades: Electricians or Plumbers who are licensed to install the required components per Block Island’s building codes.

Other Professionals: Companies that have asked that their names be provided for your consideration as they have experience in the renewable energy field.

Lending Institutions: Companies that provide financing for your renewable project, if necessary.

  1. Fleet Bank is offering non-equity home improvement loans.
  2. Newport Federal Savings Bank is offering residential construction-to-permit first mortgages that incorporate grant technology.
  3. Washington Trust is offering Home Equity loans for this grant at ¼% discount for loans under $10,000 and ½% for loans above $10,000.
  4. RIMFC is offering Home Repair Loans at 4.75 APR for incomes under $32,880; 6.25 APR for incomes between $32,881 and $53,935, and the ENERGY SAVER Equity Loan Program at 7.99 APR for incomes under $63,000.
